How often should beginners practice guitar?
The best practice plan is short enough to repeat and specific enough to measure.

Choose consistency over marathon sessions
For most beginners, several short sessions during the week are more useful than one long session right before the lesson. The hands and brain need repeated contact with the same skill.
Give each practice session a job
Instead of “practice guitar,” use three concrete targets: one technique, one rhythm or chord change, and one piece of music. A student should know which small section to repeat and when to move on.
Stop before frustration takes over
Good practice includes productive struggle, but repeated tension and guessing usually reinforce the wrong thing. Slow the task down, reduce it to two notes or chords, and rebuild from a successful repetition.
Adjust the plan to the student
Age, schedule, attention and goals all matter. In online beginner guitar lessons, Jacob gives each student a realistic weekly priority rather than a generic practice quota.
